According to market research firm Dataforce, in the first ten months of this year, Tesla Model Y sales in Europe (212,517 units) were far ahead of its nearest competitor Dacia Sandero (197,482 units), with a lead of 15,035 units. If Tesla’s recent sales trends continue, Model Y sales will be even stronger in the final two months of the year.
Typically, Tesla sees its sales peak at the end of a quarter. Dataforce data expert Benjamin Kibies analyzed Tesla sales data in Europe and found that since 2018, Tesla has typically achieved 10% of sales in the first month of a quarter and 23% of sales in the second month. And achieved 67% sales volume in the last month of the quarter.
Therefore, the sales lead of Tesla Model Y in the first ten months of this year is likely to be further expanded in the last two months of the year, which means that this car will become the first electric car to win the best-selling model in Europe. Likewise, , will also be the first time that a mid-size car and a high-end car, as well as a non-European brand, take the crown.
In addition to the European market, Tesla Model Y is also expected to become the best-selling model in the world in the future.
