Currently, BYD is also lowering the prices of its electric vehicles in Germany as the price war among electric vehicle manufacturers intensifies. It is reported that BYD has cut the price of electric vehicles by 15% in Germany to expand its leading position in key markets.

Germany’s electric vehicle subsidy programme was due to run until the end of 2024, but ended early last month in what is expected to be a blow to German carmakers. German carmakers are currently struggling to keep competitive by cutting the prices of their electric cars to the levels of their Chinese and US rivals.

Tesla announced last week that it would suspend most of its car production at its Berlin factory from 29 January to 11 February, blaming tensions in the Red Sea. Previously, after ships were attacked in the Red Sea, international shipping giants changed their transportation routes, resulting in longer transportation times and shortages of parts.
