Stellantis said in a statement that the performance consolidated its position as the second largest company in 29 major European markets, behind Volkswagen Group. In 2023, Stellantis held leading positions in its two home markets of France and Italy.

Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Europe, said: “Our full-year sales performance once again proves that we are a strong challenger for the number one sales position in Europe.”

In addition, in the European pure electric vehicle market, Stellantis Group is growing rapidly, with registrations in 2023 increasing by 14% year-on-year, and occupying 14.2% of the market share in Europe. In this area, Stellantis’ products include models such as the Fiat 500e, Opel Corsa electric and Peugeot e-208.

Stellantis said it expects to launch “several” new pure electric vehicle models this year and expects to double the number of its pure electric vehicle products in Europe by the end of 2024.
