According to foreign media reports, on 15 March, Tesla said on its website that it would increase the price of all its Model Y sold in the United States by $1,000 from 1 April.
Then on 16 March, Tesla said on social media X that it would raise the price of its Model Y electric car in some European countries from 22 March by around €2,000 ($2,177) or the equivalent in local currency.

This is the second time Tesla has announced a price increase within a month. Previously, on March 1, Tesla raised the prices of its rear-wheel drive and long-range Model Y by US$1,000 to US$43,990 and US$48,990 respectively.
Tesla has not yet made it clear whether the rear-wheel drive and long-range Model Y, which just raised prices in early March, will raise prices again on April 1.
In fact in February, Tesla temporarily lowered the price of some Model Y in the U.S. after nearly a month of significant price cuts in Europe and China. At the time, Tesla CEO Elder Musk said in response to a Tesla post on X: “This is the basic dilemma of manufacturing: factories need to produce consistently to be efficient, but consumer demand is seasonal.” The post said prices would rise again in March.
And now Tesla is making good on that statement. Tesla’s move could be an incentive for people to place their orders early, helping Tesla get more orders by the end of the first quarter.
