According to foreign media reports, United States electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla announced at an investor conference held with Deutsche Bank that it plans to launch a new model priced below $30,000 to help boost its annual sales growth and compete with models such as BYD Dolphin and Volkswagen ID.3.

In a report, Deutsche Bank has referred to Tesla’s upcoming new model as “Model Q”. It is worth noting that “Model Q” is named by Deutsche Bank, not Tesla. Additionally, Deutsche Bank stated in the report that the “Model Q” will be produced based on Tesla’s existing platform and will be launched in the first half of 2025, with a price below $30,000 if the US electric vehicle subsidy is included. However, if US President-elect Trump cancels the electric vehicle tax credit, the price of the model will be $37,499.
However, the report from Deutsche Bank has not revealed any information about the size of Tesla’s “Model Q” or how it differs from the Tesla Model 3. Some Wall Street analysts expect that Tesla’s more affordable model (the “Model Q”) to be a simplified version of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, which will be launched next year.
It is reported that currently, the lowest-priced model of Tesla in the United States is the Model 3 sedan, with a starting price of $44,130 (including shipping), and a starting price of $36,630 after federal tax credits.
Additionally, Tesla also plans to launch a new platform to produce more cost-effective models, expanding its customer base and potentially increasing sales in the coming years. Earlier this year, Tesla stated that investors should expect a decline in the company’s sales growth this year as it focuses on its next-generation platform to produce more affordable vehicles.
