According to Reuters, on 11 March local time, E.dis, a division of German energy network company E.ON and the power company responsible for fixing the Tesla Germany factory failure, said in a statement that Tesla’s German Superfactory has been reconnected to the power grid after a week-long blackout caused by an arson attack.
The blackout at Tesla’s German factory began on March 5, when a nearby cable tower was hit by an arson attack, which activists from the far-left group Vulkangruppe claimed responsibility.
E.dis said the rapid assembly work over the weekend allowed it to undergo several hours of high-voltage testing and gain approval from engineers.
E.dis reconnected the Tesla German factory to the power grid at 8:45 pm local time on March 11.
Andre Thierig, head of Tesla’s German factory, said it will take some time for the factory to fully resume production. “It will definitely take some time before we can fully resume production, but the most important step has been taken.”

Tesla said earlier on 11 March that it would gradually start up the plant’s systems after power was restored. The plant is said to employ about 12,500 people. In emailed comments, Tesla said: ‘It is not yet possible to determine how long it will take to fully restore production.
Tesla said last week that the plant expected the outage to last until March 15, while the head of the labour council at Tesla’s German factory said on March 8 that the plant would restart this week, without giving a specific date.
Joerg Steinbach, the economy minister for the state of Brandenburg, said employees at E.dis have been working in a three-shift pattern to make sure power can be supplied as soon as possible.
