The Toyota Sport Crossover electric vehicle will be produced by BYD Toyota EV Tech Co., a joint venture between Toyota and China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer BYD.
Previously, Toyota and BYD have collaborated on the bZ3 electric vehicle, an electric sedan that uses Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the same platform as the bZ4X electric SUV. But the bZ3 uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) blade batteries, electric motors and electronic control systems supplied by BYD.
