Anticipation for this move has been building for months, since Tesla first launched the Model 3 Refreshed in China and Europe. Tesla’s website now also allows users to register to get a “first-hand look at our Model 3 Refresh as it becomes available for test drives.” As of 9 January, the estimated delivery date for Tesla Model 3 Highland orders is January-February 2024.
Tesla showed off the major upgrades of the refreshed version of Model 3 compared to the previous model on its official website. These upgrades include increasing the vehicle’s range (up to 341 miles on a single charge) and optimizing its appearance to improve its drag coefficient. Tesla also highlighted two new colors for the Model 3 Highland – Stealth Gray and Super Red – as well as optimized wheels for greater efficiency.
Tesla also highlighted the Model 3 Refreshed’s fully updated interior with a wrap-around design that includes customisable ambient lighting.
The Tesla Model 3 Refreshed Edition is currently available in North America in two versions: the base rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version and the long-range dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) version, with starting prices of $38,990 and $45,990, respectively.
In 2023, Tesla’s share of the overall U.S. auto market reached an all-time high of 4.2%.
According to Kelley Blue Book, electric vehicles are projected to account for 7.6% of the total U.S. auto market in 2023, up from 5.9% in 2022. Tesla will remain the dominant U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer, with a projected 55 percent market share.
