After a year of delays, Vietnamese automaker VinFast has finally delivered the first VF9 crossovers to U.S. customers. The car will start at $72,000, including shipping.

On November 18, VinFast delivered the first VF9 to customers at its North American headquarters in Los Angeles. After delivering the first eight VF9 crossovers, VinFast said it will sell the model through 15 company-owned stores in California and 36 franchised dealerships in 15 other states.

VinFast launched its two-seater VF8 crossover in March 2023, initially planning to launch the VF9 in California in 2023. The VF9 went on sale in Vietnam last year.

Mike Nolte, vice president of U.S. Sales at VinFast, said: “The VF9 is one of the few seven-seater, three-row electric vehicles on the market. We are confident that the VF9 will be the ideal car for the extended family, delivering superior quality and luxury experience while delivering exceptional value.”

VinFast’s first U.S. offering is the VF9 Plus, which starts at $75,000 (including shipping). The company said the base Eco model will be launched later this year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the Eco version has a range of 330 miles (about 531 kilometers), while the Plus version has a range of 297 miles (about 478 kilometers).
